NY - A heart attack caused the death of Mrs. Jennie ALLEN-Card,
73,
who was stricken at her home at 50 McKean Street, Thursday morning, and
died at 1:30 PM. All six of her children were at her beside when
she died.
Mrs.
ALLEN-Card was born in Irish Creek, Canada, (which has since been
renamed
to Jasper, Canada) February 6th, 1860?

tombstone) She lived with her grandparents until she was thirteen
years
of age, when she moved to the United States.
Mrs. ALLEN-Card was twice married. She was first united in
marriage in
1883
to Frank ALLEN of
Elmdale,
(NY?) by whom she had six children - five
daughters and one son.
Frank ALLEN died in 1914, and on October 4,1919, Jennie married Westely J. Card of Glen Park.
Mrs. ALLEN-Card was a member of the Episcopal
Church and the Ladies Aid
of Natural Dam.
She spent most of her life in the vicinity of
Glen
Dale and
Gouverneur where she left a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Services were held at Mrs. ALLEN-Card's home at 2:30 PM with the Rev. Sturgeon of the Nazarene Church officiating, and assisted by Rev. Phillip Mang. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

late Alan Ring, and his nephew, Stuart Ring recall that Felix was a
translator for NYS
construction crews c. 1910 - 1917.
Memories state the Felix spoke fluent Russian, German and Polish

were the qualifications that landed him the position.
Supposedly, it was while as a translator for

1918 Felix began his occupation with the A & P
Company. Felix held the position of
superintendent for the A&P Grocery store chain, and his district

of ALAN CARL RING
In
1937, the Ring family relocated to Adams, NY, and purchased
Flansburg’s Five and Ten. At the time of
purchase the business was renamed Rings 5 & 10, and in 1951, upon
incorporation, renamed Ring’s Department Store, with Al and his only
sibling,
Frederick (Fred) as co-owners.
Al
Ring attended Adams High School, Adams, NY and graduated in
1943 as Valedictorian. He then enlisted
in the United States Navy and served his country until the end of World
War
II. Married in October, 1952 to Janet
Ann West of Adams, NY, he remained a co-owner of Ring’s until January
of
1979. The Ring’s relocated to Flagler
Beach, FL, with their daughter, where Al became the Business Manager of
Dave
Gibbs Chevrolet, Bunnell, Florida. Al
retired from the car dealership in May of 1990 and was afflicted with
Alzheimer’s in the fall of 2000.
Survivors
include; his wife of 51 years, Janet Ring, Flagler
Beach, FL; a son, Thomas Ring, Golden Valley, MN; a daughter Nancy Ring
Kendrick, Port Orange, FL; a son-in-law Ronald Kendrick, Port Orange,
FL; and a
granddaughter, Marisa Evelyn Ring. He is
predeceased by
parents Felix (Fred) and Ada Ring, and a brother, Frederick J. Ring.
Mr. Ring
was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, Flagler Beach, FL.
A
memorial service will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic
Church in Henderson, NY on Saturday, September 4th at 11 AM with a wake
immediately following at Ryan;s Lookout Restaurant, Route 3 Henderson
NY. The burial will be private.
